At its Annual General Meeting this week, the NRM Regions Queensland Board endorsed the 2024–25 Annual Report. The report includes overviews from Chair Julie Boyd and CEO Chris Norman, alongside updates on the three pillars of our Strategic Plan: our value, our partnerships, and our capacity.
It has been an important year for Queensland’s NRM sector. We’ve strengthened partnerships, invested in our workforce, and secured one of the largest-ever funding commitments for natural resource management in Queensland — the $117.84 million NRM Expansion Program, delivered in partnership with the Queensland Government.
The report showcases the breadth of work delivered by Queensland’s 12 regional NRM organisations. These case studies demonstrate how the sector is improving land condition, enhancing biodiversity, and supporting healthy coasts and waterways, while using innovation and technology to safeguard Queensland’s unique landscapes.
Behind the scenes, we’re continuing to invest in developing our workforce. Through our first-of-its-kind mentoring program and the industry-leading NRM Leadership Framework, we’re strengthening leadership and building capacity across Queensland’s NRM sector — at all locations, at all levels, and at all times.
The report also details our growing collaboration with other sectors, from environmental offsets and natural capital markets to decarbonisation and sustainable agriculture, positioning the sector as a key voice in shaping sustainable solutions across Queensland.
